Question
Question
If the regular parent(s) die, do the godparents get custody of the child?
--Curious in Konosha
Answer
Answer
It depends what is said in the legal document, the will of the parents. Being a godparent does not infer custody of a child. Some parents may put this in their will[s]. Some do not mention the godparents in the will at all. Godparents are only obligated when a clear distinction is made in civil documents, and not church law or certificate of baptism.
