Is there a church law which prohibits children, especially those making their First Communion, from receiving from the communion cup?

Answer
There is no restriction whatsoever. Children, especially those making their First Communion, should receive from the cup.
Every effort should be made to afford children the opportunity to receive from the cup the moment they are permitted to receive the host. To do otherwise views the Blood of Christ as not the same, or as important, as the Body of Christ.
