Question
Question
May infants, who have not made their first communion, be anointed if they are sick? If they are in danger of death, may they receive the other sacraments, like confirmation and eucharist?
--Aglow in Austin
Answer
Answer
Anyone, whether infant or adult, may receive the rest of their sacraments [confirmation, penance, eucharist and anointing of the sick] when in danger of death. Infants are not restricted by the "age of reason" in the rites of anointing.
